Practice & Qualifying ALMS at Long Beach Race

8:15 PM The #5 car is slowly taking shape, bit by bit it is becoming a beautiful, stylish racing machine again. The engineers expect to be working well into the night. A long day, and its only the start of the event. These guys are the unsung heroes here, going about their work in a smooth, harmonious and utterly professional manner.

7:45 PM Long Beach is one of the most evocative temporary race tracks anywhere in the world. And this year will be the 34th consecutive year that racing will take place here. The atmosphere here is quite simply like no other. As the VICI Racing engineers' labour into the night to prepare the #5 car the apartment blocks of downtown Long Beach rise imperiously into the sky all around the ALMS paddock, casting their shadow over the visitors. However, underneath the glare of the bright spotlights, the team are oblivious to this majestic scene.

7:15 PM The focus of the engineers' efforts is on the back end of the #5 car, which is the part that suffered the brunt in St. Petersburg. The rear end is slowly taking shape mechanically. Each new part is meticulously fitted into place by our skilled team.

6:05 PM Long Beach is underway and it's promises to be a busy few days for the team. After the travails of St. Petersburg, there is a lot of work to be done before we're ready to go racing and hardly has the truck arrived than the guys have immediately swung into action.
