Generac 500 at Road America - Live reporting from the VICI Racing pits

3:50 PM The race is over - early. The first stint went very well and the first pit stop was smooth and fast. Sadly a suspension component failed on the #18 several laps later. This was our most competitive showing to date and with the car damaged we now have to pack up and trek down to Detroit, repair the damage and race next weekend.

3:00 PM Marc will drive the first stint of the 2 hour 45 minute race this afternoon. He's now strapped in the car and having some final discussions with Crew Chief Alex Zaric.

2:45 PM We're building up to the race now, around 20 minutes to go. The car is on the grid and the crew are all ready for the impending action.

10:35 AM The warm up session ends, Francesco is back in the pits and removing helmet. After an installation lap and a quick visit back to the pits for system checks, he posted his first clear lap in 1:27.245 after 7 minutes. He followed this up with a 1:24.771, 1:25.263, 1:24.330, 1:24.738, 1:25.606, 1:25.473, 1:24.474, 1:24.292, 1:24.130, 1:24.645, 1:25.055 and 1:25.613 after 25 mins. With the clock ticking away his final lap was his fastest 1:23.684.

10:10 AM The warm up session is underway. With highly rated Dutch youngster Francesco Pastorelli having completed just a couple of laps here yesterday, the main focus of this morning’s warm-up session was to allow the 21-year-old to acclimatise himself with the Mosport International Raceway, a track he hasn’t seen before.

8:00 AM It's race day at Mosport. The track action will get underway with a 25 minute warm-up session (10:05-10:30 AM) before the Grand Prix of Mosport, round 8 of the 2008 American Le Mans Series goes green at 3.05 PM (ET). The 2 hr 45 min duration race is scheduled to finish at 5:50 PM (ET).
